Peterborough Community Chorus…
Peterborough Community Chorus was formed in September 2019 to compliment the work of Peterborough Male Voice Choir and Peterborough Voices, offering accessible and inclusive singing opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels. The chorus was created to provide a relaxed, informal environment where members could enjoy singing together, develop their musical skills, and experience the joy of choral performance under the direction of award-winning choral conductor Will Prideaux.
Right from the outset, they made an impact, joining the stage for Christmas Magic at Peterborough Cathedral in December 2019 - a sell-out event that introduced the group to a large and enthusiastic audience! They followed this success with an appearance at the Peterborough Sings! Choral Celebration at The Cresset in March 2020, performing alongside the organisation’s other flagship choirs.
Though the pandemic inevitably brought rehearsals to a halt, the chorus returned in 2021 with renewed energy and purpose. Since then, they have become a vibrant part of the Peterborough Sings! family, performing every year in Christmas Magic, supporting recruitment projects such as Men united in Song and Sing for Life, and regularly showcasing their own repertoire in popular concerts at All Saints Church Peterborough.

Members speak enthusiastically about the friendships, confidence and joy they’ve gained through singing as part of the group. As one member puts it “I’m so in awe of my choir family”. In a post-pandemic world, group singing is more popular - and more important - than ever, with well-documented benefits for both physical and mental well-being. Many singers describe their experience with the chorus as ‘empowering’ and even ‘life-changing’.
Whether you’re looking to build vocal confidence, meet new people, or simply experience the uplifting power of music, Peterborough Community Chorus offers a welcoming space to sing, laugh and grow.
The choir is always open to new members who want to learn to sing in a relaxed and informal setting. No previous experience is necessary and no audition is required - just a willingness to give it a go!
Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings during school term time at the John Mansfield Campus, Western Avenue, Peterborough PE1 4HX.
