PETERBOROUGH INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S CHORAL FESTIVAL 2027

ABOUT PETERBOROUGH:

From its iconic cathedral to its thriving creative scene, Peterborough is a city that blends deep-rooted history with a modern momentum. Set in the heart of eastern England, Peterborough is a vibrant, multicultural city with a fantastic culinary offer, theatres, a lively nightlife and huge array of entertainment for everyone!

Our festival activity will be focused in the heart of the city’s Cathedral Quarter - the walkable, pedestrianised city centre area around Peterborough’s scenic Cathedral Square with its iconic mediaeval Guildhall, historic parish church of St John the Baptist and lively café culture.

Take in the splendour of Peterborough’s Norman Cathedral - burial place of King Henry VIII’s ill-fated first wife Queen Catherine of Aragon, and used in many a film set - enjoy some window shopping at Queensgate, the city centre’s leading retail destination with over one hundred shops, or take a step back in time at Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery.

Take a stroll down to the river Nene and the newly developed River and Rail quarter of the city, jump back to the Bronze Age at Flag Fen in nearby Whittlesey, visit the breath-taking sixteenth century Burghley House in picturesque Stamford, Lincolnshire, or venture even further afield…

Peterborough is ideally situated as a springboard to explore the rest of the UK, with excellent road and rail links including direct train services to London King’s Cross (50 minutes) Cambridge (50 minutes) York (approx. 1h15 mins) and Birmingham (approx. 1h45 mins).
