PETERBOROUGH INTERNATIONAL WOMENS CHORAL FESTIVAL 2027

Festival Timetable:

Friday 18th June:

• Opening Night Celebration and Gala Dinner in Peterborough Cathedral, 7.30pm

Saturday 19th June:

• Morning: International Choir Competition in Peterborough Cathedral

• All day: Informal Singing Opportunities in Peterborough City Centre

• Evening 7.30pm: Gala Concert* in Peterborough Cathedral, 7.30pm

• Close of festival, 9.30pm

Participating choirs do not have to take part in all of the above areas but are required to perform in the competition classes. However, we encourage participating choirs to attend for the full duration of the Festival and to engage with the spectrum of events on offer. This will maximise opportunities for collaborative engagement and the exchange of ideas between groups which we hope will develop into longer-term relationships for the future. There will be ample ‘downtime’ during the Festival for visiting choirs to visit places of interest in and around the city.

* As part of the Gala Concert, the three highest-placing choirs from the morning competition will be invited to compete again in the Festival Choir Challenge to become overall winners of the competitive element of the Festival (please see ‘Competition Repertoire’ section below for requirements). The Gala Concert will also include some mass singing: scores will be sent to choirs by February 2027 to prepare, and there will be a group rehearsal on the afternoon of Saturday 19th June
